Electrical Current01:10

Electrical Current

7.1K
Electrical current is defined as the rate at which charge flows. When there is a large current present, such as that used to run a refrigerator, a large amount of charge moves through the wire in a small amount of time. If the current is small, such as that used to operate a handheld calculator, a small amount of charge moves through the circuit over a long period of time. The SI unit for current is the ampere (A), named for the French physicist André-Marie Ampère (1775–1836).

Characteristics of Practical Op Amps01:16

Characteristics of Practical Op Amps

860
A difference amplifier, a crucial component in numerous electronic devices, ideally amplifies only the difference-mode signal, which is the difference between two input signals. However, in practical circuits, the output voltage depends on both the differential gain and the common-mode gain.
The ratio of differential gain to the common-mode gain is defined as the common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR). This ratio quantifies the ability of operational amplifiers (op-amps) to reject common-mode...

Theoretical Foundations of Nursing Practice01:30

Theoretical Foundations of Nursing Practice

17.4K
Theories play an essential role in organizing patient care. Theories refer to a proposed or followed belief, policy, or procedure that is the basis for action. Nursing theories are knowledge-based concepts that guide nurses' actions, influence nursing education and practice, and allow nurses to care for their patients.
Theories provide a perspective to assess patients' conditions and organize data and methods. They also assist in analyzing and interpreting information. They represent a...

Equivalent Circuits for Practical Transformers01:28

Equivalent Circuits for Practical Transformers

1.4K
The practical equivalent circuits of single-phase two-winding transformers exhibit significant deviations from their idealized versions due to the inherent properties of winding resistance and finite core permeability. These properties result in real and reactive power losses, affecting the transformer's performance. Understanding these deviations is crucial for designing more efficient transformers.
In a practical transformer, each winding exhibits resistance and leakage reactance. The...

Natural Selection and Mating Preferences01:06

Natural Selection and Mating Preferences

532
The principle of natural selection posits that organisms better adapted to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce. This principle is closely intertwined with mating preferences, a key aspect of sexual selection, which evolutionary psychologists believe is driven by instincts to propagate one's genes. Such instincts significantly influence mating behaviors and preferences between genders.
Females, due to their biological roles in conception, pregnancy, and nursing,...

Current Density01:21

Current Density

5.1K
The total amount of current flowing through one unit value of a cross-sectional area is referred to as current density. If the current flow is uniform, the amount of current flowing through a conductor is the same at all points along the conductor, even if the conductor area varies. The current density consists of the local magnitude and direction of the charge flow, which varies from point to point. Current density is measured in amperes per meter square, and direction is defined as the net...

    Area of Science:

    • Radiologic Technology
    • Healthcare Workforce Studies
    • Medical Imaging

    Background:

    • Hospitals increasingly require specialized skills in medical imaging.
    • Multicredentialed radiologic technologists offer a broader skill set.
    • Understanding hiring trends is crucial for workforce planning.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To assess current and future employment practices for multicredentialed technologists in Nebraska hospitals.
    • To identify preferred credentialing combinations for radiologic technologists.

    Main Methods:

    • A survey was distributed to 104 hospital radiology departments in Nebraska.
    • Radiology managers provided voluntary and confidential responses.
    • A 51% response rate was achieved.

    Main Results:

    • 93% of respondents indicated a high likelihood of hiring multicredentialed technologists in the future.
    • A trend towards needing and hiring these technologists was observed.
    • Diagnostic radiography combined with computed tomography, ultrasound, and mammography are in high demand.

    Conclusions:

    • Nebraska hospitals show a clear preference for hiring multicredentialed radiologic technologists.
    • Future hiring will likely emphasize combined credentials in radiography and advanced imaging modalities.
