GDF11 is increased in patients with aplastic anemia

Serum growth differentiation factor 11 (GDF11) levels are elevated in aplastic anemia (AA) patients and negatively correlate with hemoglobin and reticulocyte counts. This suggests an impaired GDF11 response contributes to anemia in AA.
