  • A collaborative study involving six analysts examined typical milk samples (homogenized milk, raw milk, chocolate drink, 2% milk, and 20% cream).
  • Samples were analyzed using both the standard plate count (SPC) and the spiral plate count (SPLPC) procedures.
  • Statistical analysis, including variance components, was performed to compare the methods.

  • No significant difference was observed between SPC and SPLPC values at the a = 0.01 significance level.
