Abstract:
Missions and organization of the CECOS. The 26 centers for study and conservation of human sperm and eggs (CECOS) are distributed on the French territory and have two mainly missions: to assure the sperm, oocytes and embryo donations, and the fertility preservation before a gonad toxic treatment such as for example cancer treatments. To assure their missions the CECOS includes a multidisciplinary team and a cryobiology platform and are associated with units of assisted reproductive technologies in university hospitals. They are included in network within the French Federation of the CECOS. The objective is to facilitate an equal access to the reproduction with donor gametes and to the fertility preservation. The CECOS federation, thanks to its commissions and its annual seminar, is also an authority of reference, of ethical reflection and scientific research.
