Computed tomography-guided navigation assisted drainage for inaccessible deep neck abscess: A case report

Deep neck infections (DNIs) are challenging due to complex anatomy. Computed tomography (CT)-guided navigation successfully aided in abscess drainage for a patient with DNIs, preventing recurrence.

- An initial intraoral surgical drainage and antibiotic therapy were ineffective.
- A subsequent CT-guided navigation system facilitated successful pus evacuation, leading to significant clinical improvement.
Implications:
- CT-guided navigation is a valuable tool for surgical drainage in complex DNIs, particularly when abscess localization is difficult.
- This technique can improve patient outcomes and reduce infection recurrence in deep neck space infections.
