Background:

Juvenile papillomatosis (JP), or Swiss cheese disease, is a rare benign breast lesion predominantly affecting young women.
JP often presents as a non-specific breast mass, leading to potential preoperative misdiagnosis.
A notable proportion of JP patients report a significant family history of cancer.

Observation:

Two cases of juvenile papillomatosis are presented, both initially diagnosed preoperatively as benign proliferative lesions with fibrocystic changes.
Postoperative histopathological examination confirmed juvenile papillomatosis, revealing characteristic features like duct papillomatosis, cysts, and sclerosing adenosis.
Both patients in this report had a strong family history of breast cancer, spanning both paternal and maternal lineages.

Findings:

Histopathological analysis is crucial for definitive diagnosis of juvenile papillomatosis, distinguishing it from other benign breast conditions.
The clinical presentation of JP can mimic precancerous lesions, highlighting the importance of accurate preoperative assessment and definitive surgical pathology.
A strong familial predisposition to breast cancer was observed in both reported cases of juvenile papillomatosis.

Implications:

The findings underscore the need for increased awareness of juvenile papillomatosis among clinicians to improve diagnostic accuracy.
Further research is warranted to elucidate the potential correlation between a family history of breast cancer and the development of juvenile papillomatosis.
Understanding this association could lead to improved risk assessment and management strategies for young women with a family history of cancer.
