This preliminary study assessed pharmacogenetic test (PGT) results against clinical pain management for five patients. While some PGT data aligned with patient outcomes, partial discordance suggests further research is needed for personalized pain therapy.
Area of Science:
- Pharmacogenetics
- Pain Management
- Clinical Practice
Background:
- Pain significantly impacts quality of life and healthcare costs.
- Personalized medicine necessitates understanding individual drug responses.
- Pharmacogenetic testing offers potential for tailored analgesic therapies.
Purpose of the Study:
- To evaluate the concordance between pharmacogenetic test (PGT) results and clinical therapy in patients with pain.
- To assess the utility of the Neurofarmagen Analgesia test in real-world clinical settings.
Main Methods:
- A preliminary study comparing Neurofarmagen Analgesia genetic test results with clinical outcomes in 5 pain patients.
- Analysis focused on pharmacological effectiveness and tolerability.
Main Results:
- Two out of five genetic test reports showed complete agreement with clinical practice.
- Three reports exhibited partial discordance in terms of patient tolerability and drug effectiveness.
Conclusions:
- The observed partial discordance between PGT and clinical practice warrants further investigation.
- Additional studies are recommended to determine the efficacy of Neurofarmagen in routine clinical pain management.
