[Importance of medical economics in urology]

In urology, we are often required to make clinical judgments on the method of therapy. A cost-benefit analysis should be added to this decision making. If the patient is able to return to his or her social activity earlier due to less invasiveness, and "expensive" procedure would not be expensive in the total sense. The cost should be reduced without lowering the quality of urological treatments. We should try to offer our patients the best benefit, eliminating unnecessary examinations and medication.
