ABCB1 Gene Is Associated With Clinical Response to SNRIs in a Local Chinese Han Population

The ATP-binding cassette subfamily B member 1 (ABCB1) gene showed no association with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) treatment response in major depressive disorder (MDD) patients. However, the ABCB1 rs2032583 polymorphism may predict improved response to serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs).

- The rs2032583 polymorphism in the ABCB1 gene may serve as a predictive factor for improved treatment response to SNRIs among Chinese patients with MDD.
- Further validation in larger, diverse patient cohorts is recommended to confirm these findings.
