Odor generation patterns during different operational composting stages of anaerobically digested sewage sludge

Early stages of anaerobically digested sewage sludge (ADS) composting, especially the first eight days and turning, generate the most significant odors. Ammonia and volatile sulfur compounds dominate emissions during these critical phases.
