Abstract:
Nutritional support is an integral part of the therapy for lung dysfunction because malnutrition can predispose an already critically ill patient to pneumonia and respiratory failure. Physicians must, however, be sensitive to the changes in cardiac and respiratory function that certain nutrients can cause.
