Pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (PACAP) signaling in the spinal cord drives sympathetic nerve activity increases following acute intermittent hypoxia (AIH). This PACAP pathway may contribute to hypertension in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
