Summary

The peripheral chemoreceptor threshold for ventilatory response to carbon dioxide is around 39 mmHg, while the central chemoreceptor threshold is approximately 45 mmHg. Mild exercise did not alter these thresholds or peripheral chemoreceptor sensitivity.
