Summary

Orbital floor Gelfilm implants can lead to delayed cystic lesions in the anterior orbit. Surgical excision of these Gelfilm cysts improved associated motility disturbances in two patients.

  • Histological examination showed a fibrous capsule, with cyst contents dissolving during fixation.

  • Gelfilm implants may contribute to the formation of delayed orbital cysts.
