Summary

This study in Xenopus laevis reveals that thymus-dependent suppression of haemagglutinin (HA) production involves inducer cells in the thymus stimulating spleen effector cells. These functions are sensitive to cyclophosphamide and macrophage blockade, and can be distinguished from helper functions by irradiation sensitivity.
