    • To integrate continuous quality improvement (CQI) into graduate medical education program evaluation.
    • To enhance institutional and program-level evaluation processes and action item achievement.

    Main Methods:

    • Implemented 4 CQI elements over 4 years: APE template, SMART goals, dashboard metrics, and PDSA cycles.
    • Applied CQI to annual program evaluations (APE) and annual institutional reviews.
    • Focused on improving program and institutional goal setting and action item resolution.

    Main Results:

    • Action item goal adherence to SMART format improved from 62% to 100%.
    • Time to resolve action items decreased from 2.4 to 1.7 years.
    • Program leadership reported positive reception to CQI implementation in APE.

    Conclusions:

    • CQI methods successfully improved the description and achievement of institutional and program-level goals.
    • Enhanced goal setting and action item resolution led to increased satisfaction among program directors and coordinators.
    • CQI integration is effective for continuous quality improvement in graduate medical education.
