    Summary

    This study investigated electromagnetic fields and alternating current for bone healing in dogs. Adding a bone graft to electrical stimulation significantly improved bone repair compared to electrical stimulation alone.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of combined electromagnetic fields and alternating current (Kraus method) for treating bone nonunions.
    • To assess the impact of cancellous bone grafting in conjunction with electrical stimulation.

    Main Methods:

    • Two groups of 21 beagle dogs with induced ulnar nonunions were studied.
    • One limb served as a control, while the other received electrical treatment for eight weeks.
    • The second group additionally received a cancellous bone graft.
