Pathogen killing pathogen: antimicrobial substance from Acinetobacter active against foodborne pathogens

Acinetobacter bacteria produce antimicrobial substances (AMS) that inhibit foodborne pathogens. One isolate, JE6, showed broad-spectrum activity against multidrug-resistant strains, offering potential food safety applications.

- The AMS from isolate JE6 demonstrates broad-spectrum activity against MDR strains relevant to food safety, a novel finding.
