F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (F-FDG PET/CT) aided in diagnosing giant cell arteritis in an elderly patient. This imaging technique highlighted peripheral vessel inflammation, leading to prompt treatment and recovery.

- Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a systemic vasculitis primarily affecting large and medium-sized arteries.
