Background:

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) affects a large number of aging men.
Traditional surgical options for BPH can have significant side effects and complications.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the initial outcomes of Holmium laser prostate enucleation (HoLEP) in a clinical setting.
To assess the safety and efficacy of HoLEP for BPH treatment.

Main Methods:

Retrospective analysis of 24 patients undergoing HoLEP surgery.
Evaluation of demographic data, operative parameters, and post-operative outcomes.
Comparison of International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and uroflowmetry before and after surgery.

Main Results:

Significant improvements observed in IPSS and uroflowmetry (Qmean).
Hemoglobin levels showed a statistically significant difference post-surgery.
Complication rates were found to be consistent with existing literature.

Conclusions:

HoLEP is a highly reliable surgical option for BPH.
HoLEP demonstrates comparable functional outcomes to gold standard procedures.
HoLEP offers advantages including reduced complications, shorter catheterization/hospitalization, and cost-effectiveness.
