Back Squat vs. Hip Thrust Resistance-training Programs in Well-trained Women

Back squat (BS) and hip thrust (HT) exercises both increase hip extensor strength and size. However, back squats were more effective for building quadriceps and gluteal muscle mass and improving squat strength in trained women.

- While both exercises enhance hip extensor strength, BS offers superior overall muscle development and strength adaptation in the studied population.
