Hyperparathyroidism affects 25% of adults with X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), a condition causing phosphate wasting. Early hypercalcemic hyperparathyroidism in XLH patients can be successfully treated with surgery.

- Early-onset hypercalcemic hyperparathyroidism in XLH is effectively treated by parathyroid surgery, normalizing calcium and PTH levels.
