Background:

  • Ten patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma underwent robotic transaxillary thyroidectomy using the da Vinci SP system.
  • Procedures were performed between December 2018 and April 2019 at Yonsei University Hospital.
  • Both gasless and gas insufflation methods were utilized and compared.

  • All ten procedures were successfully completed using the single-port robotic system.
  • The mean operative time was 148.7 minutes; the gasless method was faster (130.5 min) than gas insufflation (176.0 min).
