Primary pancreatic lymphoma (PPL) is rare, often mimicking adenocarcinoma. This case highlights successful nonoperative diagnosis and treatment of PPL presenting as a pancreatic mass with biliary obstruction.
Area of Science:
- Gastroenterology
- Oncology
- Pathology
Background:
- Adenocarcinoma is the most common pancreatic neoplasm, but primary pancreatic lymphoma (PPL) can mimic its presentation.
- PPL typically involves peripancreatic lymph nodes and may present as a homogenous mass with invasion.
- Localized or diffuse pancreatic involvement by PPL is uncommon, posing diagnostic challenges.
