Postoperative delirium (POD) occurred in 1.2% of older adults undergoing orthopedic surgery. Advanced age, comorbidities, and certain medications were identified as key risk factors for POD development.

- Both non-modifiable (e.g., age) and modifiable (e.g., medication, alcohol use) factors contribute to POD risk.
