Multivalent weak interactions between assembly units drive synaptonemal complex formation

Two new synaptonemal complex (SC) proteins, SYP-5 and SYP-6, were identified in C. elegans. These proteins, along with charge-interacting elements, regulate SC assembly and dynamics through multivalent interactions.
