    Abstract:

    A rapid, direct method for screening single plaques of Agt recombinant phage is described. The method allows at least 10(6) clones to be screened per day and simplifies physical containment of recombinants.

    Agarose gel electrophoresis is very useful in separating DNA fragments by size. Running a DNA ladder containing fragments of the known length alongside the sample helps determine the approximate length of the sample DNA fragments.
