Abstract:
Described here is a simple and versatile approach for the preparation of antibacterial phosphonium-based coatings through the curing of a polymerizable tributylphosphonium monomer using UV light. The resulting surfaces resist bacterial growth and adhesion, even at high bacterial loadings up to 107 colony forming units per cm2.
