Combined theophylline and dexamethasone (Dex) treatment reduces inflammation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) models. This therapy reverses corticosteroid insensitivity by inhibiting the PI3K/Akt pathway and increasing histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) expression.
