NIV Is not Adequate for High Intensity Endurance Exercise in COPD

Noninvasive ventilation (NIV) did not improve endurance exercise capacity in severe COPD patients not accustomed to it. Ventilator limitations and patient-ventilator asynchronies (PVA) with both nasal and oronasal masks hindered performance.
