BRAF V600E-mutant anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC) with a papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) precursor frequently harbors the BRAF V600E mutation. Conversely, ATC with follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) or Hürthle cell carcinoma (HCC) precursors lack this mutation.
