Percutaneous subclavian vein access is a frequent route for electrocatheter insertion.
Early pacemaker malfunction can lead to significant patient morbidity.

Observation:

A case of early pacemaker malfunction was observed.
An air pocket was identified between the anodal contact plate and surrounding tissues.
This air collection was a complication of the percutaneous subclavian vein technique.
