Placental Pathology in COVID-19

Placentas from pregnant women with COVID-19 showed increased maternal vascular malperfusion (MVM) and abnormal maternal vessels compared to controls. These findings suggest SARS-CoV-2 infection impacts placental oxygenation and may indicate a hypercoagulable state.
