Abstract:
Contemporary education demands that teachers learn to provide excellent education in online learning environments. A student-centered, rich, and active learning environment can and must occur in the online learning arena. Applying Socratic questioning to online teaching and learning leads to rich dialogue and enhances learning. This article focuses on how online instructors can apply Socratic questioning in their online discussions, geared to the readiness of students.
