Is consonance attractive to budgerigars? No evidence from a place preference study

Budgerigars and humans were tested for attraction to consonant musical intervals. Neither species showed a preference for consonant over dissonant sounds in two experiments, suggesting consonance attraction may not be universal in harmonic vocalizers.
