Endophthalmitis after Cataract Surgery: Changes in Management Based on Microbiologic Cultures

Vitreous cultures after cataract surgery endophthalmitis have prognostic value for vision outcomes but limited impact on immediate clinical management. Positive cultures did not alter treatment, though they correlated with poorer visual acuity and higher rates of retinal detachment.

- However, culture results demonstrated a limited effect on immediate clinical management decisions in this cohort.
