The evaluation stage signals the end of the nursing process. The nurse gathers evaluative data to assess whether or not the patient has attained the expected results. Whereas the nurse collects data in the nursing assessment to identify the patient's health concerns, the evaluation stage data determines if the indicated health issues are resolved. There is a need to incorporate diverse perspectives into the development of reliable nursing outcome measures.

Purpose of the Study:

To introduce and describe the Nurse-Patient Outcome Content Validation Method.
To highlight the incorporation of both nurses' and patients' perspectives in validating nursing outcomes and indicators.

Main Methods:

The Nurse-Patient Outcome Content Validation Method was developed based on Fehring's content validation model.
It expands the concept of 'expert' to include patients alongside healthcare professionals.
Indicators are categorized as critical, supplemental, or unnecessary based on importance ratios.

Main Results:

The method gathers patients' and healthcare professionals' perspectives on indicator importance.
It calculates an outcome content validity (OCV) score using importance ratios of critical and supplemental indicators.
