Automated intraoperative processing autotransfusion machines

We evaluated 3 autotransfusion machines, from 3 manufacturers, that automatically or manually process RBCs from whole blood salvaged from surgical and trauma wounds. All units are rated Acceptable, and ranking is based primarily on safety and ease of use.
