Imaging of Acute Abdominal Pain in the Pediatric Population
Abstract:
Acute abdominal pain is a common complaint in pediatrics. Although age and location of pain can help focus differential diagnosis, imaging plays an essential role in clinical evaluation. In this review, we discuss the optimal imaging approach to pediatric patients with acute abdominal pain and important imaging findings in the most common causes of abdominal pain in the pediatric population.
