Platelet polyphosphate level is elevated in patients with chronic primary thrombocytopenia: A preliminary study

Platelet inorganic polyphosphate (polyP) levels were higher in patients with low platelet counts (thrombocytopenia), suggesting a compensatory mechanism for bleeding. PolyP plays an essential role in platelet function and coagulation.
