Time Course of LDL Cholesterol Exposure and Cardiovascular Disease Event Risk

Cumulative exposure to LDL-C and its accumulation rate significantly predict cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. Early-life LDL-C control is crucial, as accumulating the same LDL-C area at a younger age increases CVD risk more than at an older age.

- Accumulating the same cumulative LDL-C exposure at younger ages confers a greater risk increase compared to older ages.
- These findings underscore the critical importance of initiating and maintaining optimal LDL-C control from early adulthood to mitigate long-term cardiovascular risk.
