New-onset arrhythmia associated with patients hospitalized for thyroid dysfunction

New-onset arrhythmias occur in 3% of hospitalizations for thyroid dysfunction. While not significantly more frequent, these arrhythmias increase mortality and resource use, warranting thyroid function checks in arrhythmia patients.
