  • Obesity was also associated with increased risk for moderate to severe disease (OR, 4.96; P=.02).
  • Severe disease occurred in 4.3% of cases, with one maternal death. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy were noted in 22.3% of women delivering after 20 weeks' gestation.

  • Hispanic ethnicity and obesity are identified as significant risk factors for moderate to severe COVID-19 in pregnant women.
