Abstract:
The structure and function of the growth plate are discussed in detail by Dr. Brighton. Specifically, the blood supply, histology and histochemistry, biochemistry, and ultrastructure of the various zones of cartilagenous portion of the growth plate, as well as the bony and fibrous portions of the growth plate, are described.
