Outer hair cell functioning in infants with iron deficiency anemia

Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) does not impact outer hair cell function in infants. Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE) showed no significant amplitude differences between infants with and without IDA, suggesting iron levels don't directly affect cochlear health.
