Background:

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by SARS-CoV-2, presents diverse symptoms beyond respiratory issues.
Neurological, central nervous system, peripheral nervous, and skeletal muscle manifestations are documented in some COVID-19 patients.
The impact of COVID-19 on the inner ear and auditory system remains an under-explored area.

Observation:

This report presents the first documented case of hearing loss and tinnitus in a COVID-19 patient in Qatar.
The patient experienced auditory symptoms potentially linked to the infection.
Pre-existing conditions and psychological stress from the pandemic may exacerbate tinnitus risk.

Findings:

A direct correlation between SARS-CoV-2 infection and the onset of tinnitus and hearing loss is suggested.
This case adds to the limited existing literature on COVID-19's otologic manifestations.
The findings underscore the need for vigilance regarding auditory health in COVID-19 patients.

Implications:

Otorhinolaryngologists should consider COVID-19 as a potential cause of new-onset hearing loss and tinnitus.
Further research is warranted to understand the pathophysiology of COVID-19-associated auditory dysfunction.
Early recognition and management of these symptoms may improve patient outcomes and inform clinical guidelines.
