Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) patients have a higher prevalence of bacteria in their sinonasal passages compared to HIV-negative individuals. This study investigated the sinonasal microbiome in HIV patients without rhinosinusitis.

- HIV-infected individuals exhibited a higher overall number of bacterial isolates in their sinonasal passages.
- These findings suggest alterations in the sinonasal microbiome composition in HIV infection.
