Area of Science:

  • Oncology
  • Molecular Biology
  • Biochemistry

Background:

  • Mortalin (HSP70 family) is implicated in various cancers.
  • Its specific role and mechanism in breast cancer progression remain largely undefined.
  • Understanding Mortalin's function is crucial for identifying new therapeutic targets.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the correlation between Mortalin expression and breast cancer malignancy.
  • To elucidate the mechanism by which Mortalin influences breast cancer progression.
  • To evaluate Mortalin as a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker.

Main Methods:

  • Detection of Mortalin expression levels in breast cancer tissues.
  • Functional experiments assessing proliferation, metastasis, and EMT.
  • Analysis of Mortalin's role in the Wnt/β-Catenin signaling pathway.

Main Results:

  • Mortalin expression is correlated with increased breast cancer malignancy.
  • Mortalin significantly facilitates breast cancer cell proliferation, metastasis, and EMT.
  • Mortalin regulates EMT and malignant progression via the Wnt/β-Catenin pathway.

Conclusions:

  • Mortalin is a key driver of breast cancer progression and malignancy.
  • Mortalin inhibition could be a potential therapeutic strategy.
  • Mortalin serves as a valuable biomarker and prognostic factor for breast cancer patients.
