Postoperative Prophylactic Antibiotics in Spine Surgery: A Propensity-Matched Analysis

Extending prophylactic antibiotics for 24 hours postoperatively did not reduce surgical site infection rates in spine surgery patients. This duration of antibiotic use also showed no increased risk of Clostridium difficile or multidrug-resistant infections.
