Abstract:
From November to December 2019, a cross-sectional study including 1 243 children aged 8~13 years was conducted in one primary school in Huantai County, and 1 238 children with complete data were finally included. A total of 1 238, 146, and 83 children were included in the first, second and third visit of the follow-up, respectively. With the follow-up visits increasing, the systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) levels of the 83 children who were followed up across all three different visits decreased significantly across three different visits (both Pfor trend<0.05). The prevalence of elevated blood pressure across the three visits was 11.8%, 6.8% and 4.0% (P<0.001); the prevalence of elevated SBP was 11.4%, 6.5%, and 4.0% (P<0.001); the prevalence of elevated DBP was 1.1%, 1.0%, and 0.4%, respectively (P>0.05).

Special considerations while measuring blood pressure
Monitoring Both Arms:
Monitoring BP in both arms during the initial assessment is advisable, as the systolic value may differ by five to ten mm Hg between arms. For subsequent BP assessments, use the arm with the higher reading.
Assessment of blood pressure in brachial artery(two-step method)
Blood Pressure
The average BP in an adult is typically around 120/80 mmHg (millimeters of mercury). In this measurement, the numerator (120) indicates the systolic pressure, which is the pressure in the arteries during the contraction of the heart's ventricles as blood is expelled. The denominator (80) represents the...
